Chris Leitch could be returning
June 1, 2007

Chris Leitch, who was jettisoned by the Alexi and Mo regime a year ago, looks to be making his way back to Metro. The outside back was close to re-joining the squad before the season started, but a knee injury sidelined him, with Metro trading for Hunter Freeman instead. Now, with Freeman sidelined for a while, Todd Dunivant also hurt, and two usual midfielders, Dema Kovalenko and Dave van den Bergh, starting on the backline, Metro is looking for the versatile Leitch to fill the holes, at least for the time being.

Leitch is supposed to travel to Kansas City and play in the reserve match on Sunday. He has cleared waivers and is still officially the property of Columbus, meaning Metro will have to give something up to take back his rights. He was originally sent to the Crew in the pathetic Edson Buddle for Eddie Gaven deal.
